Storage and Provenance
We are in the business of buying and selling the finest and rarest wine in the world. We take our storage and provenance seriously. We only buy wines with documented travel and impeccable provenance.
Our wine is professionally stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment owned and managed by “Wine Storage, LLC” (insert real name here). Temperature is controlled at 55°F with a constant 60% relative humidity.
Documented wine stored under these ideal conditions is considered “superb provenance”. The importance of this provenance cannot be overstated and has been proven in the secondary market that wines with verifiable provenance receive an average premium of 10%-15% over wines without. We use the current World Food Logistics Standards as our standard.
Wigley’s Wine Storage LLC is located in Wayzata, Minnesota. The facility is remotely monitored by an independent monitoring agency for security, temperature and humidity parameters, alerting us if ever there are deviations from our required specifications.
It is very important for us to be able to certify the provenance of the wine when it comes time to liquidate the portfolio. Wine with proven provenance fetches higher prices in the secondary marketplace. The importance of provenance cannot be overstated. It is our observation that wine in the secondary market with verifiable provenance receives an average premium of 10% to 15% or more over wine without provenance. |
