Storage and Provenance
We are in the business of buying, storing, and selling the finest wine in the world. We take storage and provenance seriously. We will only buy wine with impeccable provenance. Our wine will be stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environments.
Wine is best preserved when it is stored in a cool, damp, dark, quiet area. The ideal temperature is considered to be 55°F with 60% relative humidity. Wine stored under these ideal conditions has “provenance”. We will use the current World Food Logistics Standards as our standard.
Our storage space in Wayzata, Minnesota is remotely monitored by an independent monitoring agency for security and to insure that key temperature and humidity parameters are met.
It is very important for us to be able to certify the provenance of the wine when it comes time to liquidate the portfolio. Wine with proven provenance fetches higher prices in the secondary marketplace. The importance of provenance cannot be overstated. It is our observation that wine in the secondary market with verifiable provenance receives an average premium of 10% to 15% or more over wine without provenance. |
